Monday, March 22, 2010 ~ Twenty-ninth Day of Lent

May those who sow in tears reap with shouts of joy. Psalm 126:5

Mother Teresa said, “It is very fashionable to talk about the poor. Unfortunately it is not as fashionable to talk to the poor.” As a church fueled by the fiery passion to minister to the least of these, we must strive to call each person by name. We are brothers and sisters in Christ, and we need to learn from one another and laugh and cry along side one another.
Our faith story is one that comforts the disturbed and disturbs the comfortable. It’s a story that shouts for us to follow Jesus to the margins of society in which we live and to become friends, mutual friends, one to another.

Let us pray

Disturb us today, O God, and move us beyond the comfort zone to the depth of life to which you call us. Amen.
