God will cover you with his pinions, and under his wings you will find refuge. Psalm 91:4
So here was Jesus on day 8 of his 40 days in the wilderness, wondering what he had gotten himself into, why he was out here, did he really want to do this… you know what day 8 is like when you start something new…. you wonder who would really care if you broke your diet or stopped your exercise program or had just one drink or threw in the towel… so maybe, just maybe Jesus remembered the words from this Psalm, and thought about that eagle with wings so grand they would give shade and a hint of a flying spirit that just might give him the strength to ride out these days…. and here you are on the 8th day of Lent, those 40 days set aside to cleanse the system and open your eyes, 40 days to remember what it is like to live by the grace of God alone and not by what we can supply for ourselves. If you’ve made it this far, then you’re better than most… so look up, sense God’s mighty wings and believe God will see you through.
