Monday, March 1, 2010 ~ Eleventh Day of Lent

You will not see me until the time comes when you say, “Blessed is the one who comes in the name of the Lord.” Luke 13:35

Maybe you sang that camp song about following Jesus, like I did:

I have decided to follow Jesus,
I have decided to follow Jesus,
I have decided to follow Jesus,
No turning back, no turning back.

I can sing it so well. I can really, really mean it. But there are so many things along the path to turn to, just for a moment, just a glance, and maybe then another, and another. But in this reading, Jesus says there is no turning back for him. He’s going straight to Jerusalem to meet

whatever awaits him there. No turning back. No turning back. And it’s because he didn’t turn back, that I’ll try again today, to follow him, no turning back.

~ Woody Berry

Let us pray

Lord, lead me on a straight path today. Amen.
