In Christ God was reconciling the world to himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and entrusting the message of reconciliation to us. 2 Corinthians 5:19
Our natural tendency when we sin is to try to hide it from others, just as Adam and Eve hid in the garden from God. We think that if we can only conceal what we've done, everything will be all right. The problem with our logic is twofold. First, our sins often hurt other people, and we need to be reconciled to them. Second, even if others never find out what we've done, our sins remain a burden on our own consciences until we confess them and receive forgiveness. Confession helps us cleanse ourselves of guilt, and it opens the door to reconciliation with our neighbors, and even with our enemies, and even within ourselves.

Let us pray
Gracious God, give us the strength and courage to unburden ourselves, and trusting in your healing grace, to share your message of reconciliation. Amen.
